Event Guidelines for Riders:

  1. The 2020 Shootout Series is to be run over six (6) rounds.
  2. Pro Straight will be used at Sarina Round 5
  3. Race Categories, as per the current BMXA Rule Book
  4. Three (3) Registered Riders constitute a class. Gender Equity Applies
  5. A rider may enter into their age group, as per year of birth. All open riders may enter above their age group but whatever age group they start the series, they must finish in even if the rider has a birthday within the series. If a rider rides out of their age class, they will forfeit their award and all placing gained in that age group will be changed so as to show that rider did not compete in that age group.
  6. Sprocket class must stay in the Sprocket category. Reference the current BMXA Rule Book.
  7. Scoring method,
    1. Motos, 100pts = 1st, 98pts = 2nd, 96pts = 3rd, 94pts = 4th through to 2pts = 50th
    2. Finals, 100pts = 1st, 95pts = 2nd, 90pts = 3rd, 85pts = 4th, 80pts = 5th, 75pts = 6th, 70pts = 7th, 65pts = 8th.
  8. The rider’s best 4 rounds over the series will be considered in the final points tally.
  9. There will be a Bonus 50 Points awarded to each Rider’s score who nominate and ride all 6 rounds
  10. Double point rounds will be Round 1 (Dysart) & Round 2 (Moranbah)
  11. Each round consists of 5 Motos, No Finals - Mini Wheelers & Sprockets
  12. Each round consists of 4 Motos and Finals (Age & Superclass)
  13. A rider must ride 5 out of 6 rounds to qualify for an award.
  14. A rider who nominates into a round of the series must take the gate, to be scored in that round.
  15. Whatever Race Number you start with will be your number for the whole series.
  16. Prize Money will be paid by EFT. Forms will be made available at each round.
  17. BMX North Queensland Athlete Development Squads will be selected from the 2020 Shootout Series and the 2020 BMX North QLD Zone Championship.
  19. BMX North Queensland and their appointed officials may remove any rider, parent, or spectator from the venues at any time. BMX North Queensland reserves the right to refuse entry to any person.
  20. Wet weather policy will be posted at registration of each round.


Transponder Disclaimer

I, the undersigned, for myself and for my heirs, personal representatives and assigns, do hereby release and forever discharge the controlling bodies, organizers, officials, members property owners, employees and any other person, firm or corporation charged with responsibility or liability, from all or any claims, demands, damages, costs and expenses, loss of service and any other actions arising from any act or occurrence and particularly on account of ALL PERSONAL INJURY, DISABILITY, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR LOSS OF ANY KIND that I may hereafter sustain as a result of participation in any event, as a competitor official or spectator conducted by any club or organization affiliated with the official controlling bodies of BMX in Queensland. I fully understand the nature of the activities to be conducted and acknowledge the hazards of the said activities. I voluntarily assume

The risk of injury to my person, property and the property of others. In the event of any injury I hereby give my consent for proper medical treatment to be administered. By signing this document, you and those in your company, agree to comply with and be bound by the Code of Behaviour as it relates to riders, parents, spectators and officials. I agree to allow the site first aid officers to release any relevant information to BMX Queensland in the event I require first aid attention, this information being for insurance purposes. I am aware that any photographs, still or moving, that may be taken during the event may be published and used for publicity and promotional purposes by BMX QLD Inc. Where the race organiser provides/hires transponders for electronic lap timing, it is the rider’s responsibility to ensure that the transponder is correctly fitted to their bike. Transponders must be returned to Registration at the conclusion of the event and failure to do so will incur a cost to the rider of $155 plus cost.
